HOMETERMS & CONDITIONS
LEGAL

TERMS &
CONDITIONS

The terms under which JAG Catering Equipment Ltd supplies, hires, and installs commercial catering equipment. Please read them carefully before placing an order.

Last updated: October 2026

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the sale, hire, and refurbishment of commercial catering equipment supplied by JAG Catering Equipment Ltd ("JAG", "we", "us", or "our"), whose registered office is Unit D1, West Point Industrial Estate, Penarth Rd, Llandough, Cardiff CF11 8JQ.

By placing an order, requesting a hire quotation, submitting a project enquiry, or using our website, you ("the Customer", "you") accept these Terms in full. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not use our services.

2. Definitions

"Equipment" means any commercial catering equipment offered for sale, hire, or refurbishment by JAG.

"Sales Order" means a confirmed agreement to purchase Equipment.

"Hire Agreement" means a contract under which Equipment is rented for a defined period.

"Project Submission" means an enquiry submitted via our website detailing selected Equipment, quantities, and configuration.

"Installation Services" means the installation, commissioning, and connection of Equipment carried out by JAG or its approved engineers.

3. Orders & Quotations

All prices displayed on our website are indicative and subject to confirmation in a formal quotation. A Sales Order or Hire Agreement is only concluded once JAG accepts your order in writing.

JAG reserves the right to decline any order or quotation request at our discretion. Quotations are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless stated otherwise.

Project Submissions made through the website are enquiries and do not constitute a binding order until confirmed by JAG.

4. Sales of Equipment

Title in purchased Equipment passes to the Customer upon receipt of full payment. Risk passes to the Customer at the point of delivery.

Equipment is sold on the understanding that it is suitable for commercial catering use. The Customer is responsible for ensuring adequate power, water, drainage, and ventilation are available at the installation site.

Any warranty provided with the Equipment is subject to the manufacturer's terms and conditions, a copy of which is available on request.

5. Hire of Equipment

Hire periods are agreed in the Hire Agreement. The minimum hire period is 3 Days unless otherwise stated.

The Customer remains responsible for the care, security, and correct use of hired Equipment throughout the hire period. Equipment must be returned in the same condition as supplied, fair wear and tear excepted.

Hired Equipment remains the property of JAG at all times. The Customer must not sell, sub-let, remove, or modify the Equipment without our prior written consent.

Late return of hired Equipment will incur additional hire charges at the agreed daily or monthly rate.

6. Long Term Hire

Long Term Hire is our fixed-term rental option, where you rent the equipment your kitchen needs for a set period instead of buying it outright. All Long Term Hire agreements run for a fixed term of two years from the hire start date, unless a different term is expressly agreed in writing.

A Long Term Hire quotation is prepared for the equipment, site, and start date you request, and is subject to availability and to a service-area check. No binding agreement exists until JAG accepts your request in writing.

Long Term Hire charges are quoted as a monthly rental and are payable monthly in advance, beginning on the hire start date. Any long-hire discount shown on a quotation is calculated from the agreed hire period and is already reflected in the monthly rental quoted.

Servicing, planned maintenance, and breakdown support for the hired Equipment are included for the duration of the term, as described in the Hire Agreement. We will arrange service visits with your nominated site contact, and you must provide safe access to the Equipment for those visits.

Throughout the term the Customer is responsible for the care, security, and correct use of the Equipment, and for insuring it against loss or damage. The Equipment remains the property of JAG at all times and must not be moved to another site, sub-let, sold, or modified without our prior written consent.

Where Installation Services are required, they are chargeable in addition to the rental unless expressly included in your quotation, and the Customer must ensure the site is ready with adequate power, water, drainage, and ventilation on the agreed installation date.

At the end of the two-year term the agreement may be renewed by written agreement, or the Equipment collected by JAG. Early termination during the fixed term is not permitted except where these Terms or the Hire Agreement allow it; where we agree to an early termination in writing, an early termination charge may apply, calculated on the rental remaining for the rest of the term.

The general hire terms in section 5 apply to Long Term Hire in addition to this section. Where the two conflict, this section prevails.

7. Payment Terms

For sales, payment is due in full prior to dispatch. For hire, the first payment is due on commencement of the hire period, with subsequent payments due monthly in advance.

JAG accepts payment by bank transfer and such other methods as we may advise from time to time.

Overdue payments will accrue interest at 4% per annum above the Bank of England base rate, together with any reasonable recovery costs.

8. Delivery & Installation

Delivery dates are estimates and JAG shall not be liable for any delay. JAG will use reasonable endeavours to meet agreed delivery dates.

Where Installation Services are purchased, the Customer must ensure the site is ready and safe for installation on the agreed date, including provision of adequate power, water, and drainage connections.

Any additional works required due to site conditions not disclosed at the time of quotation will be chargeable as a variation.

9. Cancellation & Returns

Orders for new Equipment may be cancelled within 48 hours of acceptance without charge. Thereafter, cancellation may incur a restocking charge of up to 25% of the order value.

Hire Agreements may be terminated by giving 7 days' written notice, with hire charges due up to the end of the notice period.

Refurbished and bespoke Equipment is non-returnable except where faulty or not as described.

10. Limitation of Liability

JAG's total liability arising out of any order or agreement shall not exceed the value of the Equipment or Services in question.

JAG shall not be liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of business, or loss of anticipated savings.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

11. Force Majeure

JAG shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to supplier failure, transport disruption, industrial action, or events beyond our supply chain.

12. Data Protection

JAG will process your personal data in accordance with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Your information is used to process orders, provide quotations, and manage hire agreements. Full details are available in our Privacy Policy.

13. Governing Law

These Terms and any dispute arising out of them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

14. Hire Deposits, Damage & Loss

Certain Hire Agreements require a refundable security deposit, which is confirmed in your quotation or Hire Agreement and is payable before delivery. The deposit is refunded within 10 working days of the Equipment being returned or collected, once it has been inspected and found complete and in good condition.

The Customer is responsible for the Equipment from the point of delivery until it is collected or returned. Where Equipment is damaged beyond fair wear and tear, lost, stolen, or destroyed, the Customer must notify us immediately and will be charged the reasonable cost of repair, or of replacement where repair is not possible. Those costs may be recovered from the deposit, and any shortfall remains payable by the Customer.

Hired Equipment must not be moved to another site, sub-let, or used for any purpose other than that for which it was supplied. The Customer is responsible for insuring hired Equipment against loss, theft, and damage for the duration of the hire.

Where a unit develops a fault through normal use, the Customer should contact us and we will arrange a repair or a replacement unit. Repairs, servicing, and replacement parts required because of misuse, accidental damage, neglect, or failure to follow the manufacturer's instructions are chargeable to the Customer.

15. Delivery, Collection & Coverage

Delivery, Installation Services, and collection are chargeable unless your quotation states otherwise. Standard delivery is kerbside; our full delivery and installation service positions, connects, and commissions the Equipment on site.

The Customer must provide safe access, adequate parking, and a clear route to the installation position, and must disclose in advance any stairs, lifts, or restricted access that may affect the delivery. Additional charges may apply where site or access conditions differ from those described at the time of quotation. Someone aged 18 or over must be available to receive and sign for the delivery or collection.

We hire Equipment from our Cardiff base across South Wales, and sell and deliver Equipment throughout the UK. Hire availability depends on the Customer's postcode, which can be confirmed using the checker on our website or by calling us. Hire beyond our standard hire radius is by arrangement and may carry an additional charge.

Collection of hired Equipment is arranged with the Customer at the end of the hire period. The Equipment must be disconnected from services, available, and accessible on the agreed collection date. Where we are unable to collect because the Equipment is not ready or access is not available, a further collection charge may apply.
